Bob Stark - Run for Bob 2022. Bob was a FAC member of the Cupar training group for ten years and battled Prostate cancer bravely for three years.

Friday 1st April. This is a 4.4km run around the Foodieash Fields starting at 7pm.
Entry is via email, send contact details to bennyelmwood@yahoo.co.uk by Wednesday 30th March or when RACE LIMIT of 60 reached. An entry list will then be published and at registration a number will be felt-tipped on your hand. Entry is a £3 donation to Prostate Scotland, Bob’s favourite charity.
Permissions have been granted by Hilton and Cairnie estates. Parking will be at Cairnie Strawberry Farm, a one km walk away from the start/finish at Foodieash. There are no changing facilities, no toilets, no prizes….just a good run around lovely countryside and a natter with other runners!
The course runs clockwise around the massive field behind Foodieash (as used in 2010 Fife AC XC championships) then turns uphill, used as the final downhill section of the 2021 Run For Bob - 2nd Jan. Turning right along the bridlepath the route goes downhill alongside the woodland trail, then up the woodland trail before the final descent on the east side of the woodland trail, then run-in to finish. Folk are welcome to visit Foodieash for a practice run, just let me know (parking at my house).
This is not an SAF permitted run, you run at your own risk. SAF qualified coaches will be in attendance.

Great news today that old friend Stewart Davidson V70 is coming over from Dundee to run the run. Stewart was always the first to volunteer help at FAC races and for many years could be seen marshalling, taking entries, etc at so many FAC races,

Bob Stark - Run for Bob 2022. Friday 1st April.
Thank you for your entry to the Run. Your support will be much valued by Prostate Scotland who have had a tough time raising funds over the past two years.
This is a 4.4km run around the Foodieash Fields starting at 7pm. The course has also been measured at 4.2k and 4.1k !!
Parking is at Cairnie Strawberry Farm two miles out of Cupar on the Rathillet Road. One and a quarter mile up the road from the Cupar Adamson Hospital/Health Centre. Twenty metres or so before the car-park entrance is the top bridle path which will take you down to the start/finish area at Beechbank, Foodieash. A 1km walk/jog.
Entry is a £3 donation to Prostate Scotland, Bob’s favourite charity. A tin will be on the table near the start to deposit your contribution. Any cheques should be made out to the Bob Stark Memorial Fund (Prostate Scotland). Bob’s favourite charity.
You are welcome to make yourself a race number allotted from the entry list at the end of this missive ! OR we can felt-tip your number on your hand or your forehead, whichever you prefer ! 😊 Please shout out your number as you cross the finish line where our crack time-keepers Wendy Ritchie and Susan Bayne (as in race New Year 2021) will record your finishing time.
Permissions have been granted by Hilton and Cairnie estates.
The course runs clockwise around the massive field behind Foodieash (as used in 2010 Fife AC XC championships) then crossing the lower bridlepath turns uphill behind Middle Lodge used as the final downhill section of the 2021 Run For Bob - 2nd Jan. Turning right along the upper bridlepath the route goes downhill alongside the woodland trail, then up the woodland trail before the final descent on the east side of the woodland trail, then run-in to finish. Please then leave the end of the funnel and jog back to support your fellow runners.
Prostate Scotland have donated some T-shirts which will be allocated per spot prize fashion after the final runner has finished. Bring along your own drinks, flasks, cakes, etc and make an occasion of it. Your drinks, eats can be left under the table.
Pete Bracegirdle will pop up around the course taking photos so do have a comb handy before the start. There are no changing facilities, no toilets, ….just a good run around lovely countryside and a natter with other runners!
This is not an SAF permitted run, you run at your own risk. SAF qualified coaches will be in attendance.
MOST OF ALL ENJOY, CHAT TO A RUNNER YOU HAVE NEVER MET BEFORE.
