2021 races news

Unread post by Brian R Smith »

Have the club made any decisions on what is a possible list of races that might go ahead this year or any that will not be going ahead now we have a bit of light at the end of the tunnel regarding Covid restrictions being lifted.
Would be nice to see some sort of list of Fife AC races even if only to say definatly cancelled and even better ones that have a slim chance of possibly going ahead depending on how things pan out.
Give the members a bit of hope as I am sure most will have forgot what its like to enter a race been that long 👍.

Yeah, good point Brian, be good to have any insight possible - and we do all totally appreciate the challenges involved and the individual and team efforts required to put on any events even at the best of times.
On a side note, I ran in the Giffordtown area the other day, including along the club 5k route which was being excavated for resurfacing!! A good surface will definitely improve racing conditions there!

We are starting to think about the Kirkcaldy Friday evening series.Perhaps starting May and running monthly as usual but there are a number of issues eg they wouldn’t be possible if had to have small waves ie 6 , how to fairly limit numbers ,use of parks as they are busier etc.Once we know next week what changes there is to be next week we will be in a better position to plan.

Hi,
Any further news on future races - as we all know, reduced restriction for level 2 areas start imminently with waves of up to 50 in a 'mass' start permitted - does this open up the opportunity for any of our events? Blast Running in Edinburgh are up and running and doing a great job. Be fab to see some / any of our events returning even if in a modified way?

Today would have been the traditional date for the Hill Of Tarvit Race.
