DEVIL’S BURDENS RELAY 2020

Final Information Sheet

As usual, we are indebted to Adrian Stott of “Run and Become” for his generous sponsorship. Also, we would thank Kettle Produce (vegetables for the soup) and the Falkland Estate for their assistance.

1. At the behest of the local farmer, Checkpoint 3E is deleted. From Checkpoint 3D, whereby you may save a little distance in the absence of 3E, proceed back to the Finish Area as planned.

2. Leg 3 runners must wear the red numbers.

3. There is an orienteering card for each leg, these are numbered, and colour coded. These must be handed to the official on completion of the Leg.

4. Parking: there is parking available in the Playing Fields and in the Estate Carpark, however this is not unlimited. Otherwise, please park considerately in the village.

5. The Café at the Stables will give runners a 10% discount on Saturday.

6. The Falkland Community Hall will be open from 8:30am for changing, shelter, toilets, refreshments (from 12.30pm) and the prizegiving. Please bring your own drinking cup for soup, coffee, juice and tea wherever possible.

7. This year, we are delighted to have Tayside Mountain Rescue Runners competing. They will have a collection bucket (at our suggestion) in the refreshment area in Falkland Community Hall should anyone wish to help finance the invaluable service they provide.

8. There is space for club/team tents in the field.

9. There is the possibility of “mass starts” on Legs 3 and 4 for the slower teams. We envisage something like 1.15pm and 2.15pm respectively, but final decisions will be made on the day.
