Tortoise & Hare Relay Race
Tortoise & Hare Relay Race
Wednesday 2nd January 2013
Village Hall, Giffordtown
Starts at 12.00pm
Distance 4 x 1.5 mile (approx.)
Enter on the day. Adults - £3/£5, Juniors - Free
Open to all ages and abilities. Run as hard or as easy as you like. Runners to be paired according to ability with a tortoise (slower runner) and a hare (faster runner) in each team. We would prefer runners to arrange their own pairings where possible (subject to scrutiny - bandits beware!). We especially welcome male and female mixed pairs. If you don't have a partner you will be allocated one at registration. Please note there will be no winners prizes this year. We have decided to give out loads of spot prizes instead so everyone will have a chance of winning!
The race consists of 4 laps of woodland trails and paths within Heatherhall Woods. Each team member will run 2 identical laps of approx 1.5 mile.
We will attempt to record split times but if they are important to you we suggest you record your own times.

Please try and arrive at the hall for 11.00am so that team numbers can be allocated before the race begins at 12.00pm.

Re: Tortoise & Hare Relay Race
We could do with a few helpers out on the course at the changeover/finish area and in the hall to serve teas. Any contributions of food for the teas would be gratefully accepted and much appreciated.
If you are available to help, please post here.

I don't know where SRG got that date from but it's definitely on Wednesday 2nd January. It's been advertised correctly on the Scottish athletics calendar for ages.
