Mini Tour - The Race Against the Clock

Blinking heck, you're not giving me a rest are you.... all 147 of you!! What an incredible sight to see you all.... I don't quite think the starting funnel was long enough! Thank you for your patience, as there so many of you it does mean there's a bit of hanging around, but as it was sunny again (whoop!) it's not too bad. And thank you to tonights "Voice", I'm not sure of your name.... but thank you for shouting out all the numbers so loudly.

The time trial is always an interesting one, as no one really knows who is in the lead so you've just got to go for it! Sam Fernando was first over the finish line and is proving himself to be a great athlete. Well done Sam

Ruan Van Rensburg didn't let the time trial scenario bother his as he still posted the fastest time for the Under 11s... but just by 1 second, as Findlay Sey was on fine form tonight. Newcomer for tonight, was Toby Smith, who arrived on the Craigclowan School Team bus and was only 10 seconds slower than Ruan - top running!. After last nights tumble on the start line, George Yarr was all patched up, but it didn't seem to slow him down posting the 4th fastest time. Anna Hedley was well up the field again finishing 1st for the girls and 6th overall - just brilliant!

George Rees, who looked very concentrated on the start line finished in top spot once again in the Under 13s, and Craig Morris had a great run to finish 2nd with Nico Van Rensburg in 3rd place. Our visitors from Strathearn were on form tonight too, with Keir McEwan, Duthac Mardon and Levi Sweeney all finishing high up the field. Teighan Pryde had a amazing run tonight to finish in top spot for the girl, with Olivia Cromar finishing just 12 seconds behind - go girls!!

Jamie Ingledew arrived tonight with a fresh pair of legs and blasted round the course in under 7 minutes. Tristan Rees, Ryan Brocklebank and Sam Fernando finished in 2nd, 3rd and 4th places with not much time separating them. Ana Brocklebank had another great run to finish in 8:34, with Chloe Hazel in 2nd and Sasa Tough in 3rd

For the under 18s Ronan McInstray was first again in 7:50, and Jamie Watters joined in tonight and finished in 8:17..... would be good to see you back at training Jamie ;-) Our 3 U18 girls are all still in the tour with Ailsa Cruickshanks finishing first again.

The determination and concentration on the starting line tonight was just incredible to watch, and the rate at which the first 100mtrs is run is enough to worry Usain Bolt...... after that it's anyone guess what happens! And some of the sprint finishes are just brilliant, such grit!! Well done to all who have survived so far...... just one more night to go..... then it's tea, cake, prizes and goodie bags. Lets hope the weather can hold out for just one more day. See you all tomorrow....... and bring cake.. lots and lots of cake......... you deserve it..... and I need it!
