Fife AC under 20 athlete Halina Rees produced three top performances over the distance of 5km over a six day period.
The Crail athlete led the Fife AC women to team bronze at the Scottish 5km Road Race Championships held at Silverknowes, Edinburgh last week.

Halina placed 12th female, second under 20 junior in 17 minutes 44 seconds backed up by Jennifer Kibble, Balmullo, and Kirkcaldy veteran Lorraine Brown to claim the third place medals behind Edinburgh AC and Hunters Bog Trotters.
Under 20 athlete Zach Delaney, Cellardyke, excelled to place 28th overall in the top-class field and with Skylar Lobdell, St Andrews, 83rd and Ewan Paton, Glenrothes, 90th claimed the junior team gold medals.
Further success for the club came as Eddie Sanders, Windygates, won the over 60 veteran title in 21 minutes 13 seconds while George Black, Kingskettle, took the over 70 veteran title timed at 21.53, topping the UK rankings.

Over the weekend Halina was in action at the British Universities Track & Field championships at Bedford placing 5th in Saturday’s 5,000m heats qualifying for the final with 17 minutes 49.48 seconds. The Bank Holiday Monday final saw the Aberdeen University athlete finish 8th registering a personal best 17 minutes 40.17 seconds.
Bristol based Helen Sharpe featured amongst an elite field at the Bristol 10km Road Race last Sunday placing 13th female in 36 minutes 17 seconds only five seconds shy of her personal best set in 2010. Ally McAdam-Smith, St Andrews, was also in action on the roads contesting the Mallaig Half Marathon completing the scenic run in 2 hours 2 minutes.

One hundred and ninety three runners finished a gruelling Stuc a’Chroin Hill Race from Strathyre last Saturday, the opening event in the Scottish Hill Runners championship series.
In horrendous weather conditions Mark Harris, Crail, prevailed through the ice, wind and snow covering the 15 mile course with its total ascent of 5,000ft in 2 hours 24 minutes 34 seconds placing 6th overall/2nd veteran.

The weather improved for Sundays Young Athletes Track and Field match at Caird Park Dundee last Sunday where the high jump produced some of the clubs top performances. Issy Olsen, St Andrews, won the under 13 girl’s high jump with a personal best clearance of 1.32m as well as placing 4th in the 70m hurdles (13.9) and 6th in the long jump (3.46m). Isobel Simpson, Newport, placed 3rd in the under 15 girls high jump with a personal best 1.45m and went on to win the long jump (4.49m) and a 6th place over 200m (29.2).
Kirkcaldy junior Katie Aitken placed 5th in the under 15 girl’s 800m (2:38.5) while Louise McCullagh won the B race (2:49.1).
Top marks in the boys events came from Stuart Aitken, 2nd in the under 13 boys 800m (2:38.9) and Adam Scott 2nd in the under 15 boy’s (2:15.8). Kirkcaldy sprinter Ty Walker finished 5th in the 100m (14.8) and 3rd in the 200m (29.7).

On Saturday 25th May the club host the Scottish Trail Running Championships at Falkland (men 15km women 10km). Free entry to Fife AC runners if you post on club bulletin board by 11th May. A young athletes 5km trail race is also on the programme, entries on the day.
