This is just a reminder that we will be doing a recce of legs 2 and 3 combined tomorrow morning (Saturday 11th). Meet at 9:30 am at the duck pond car park in Falkland Estate. The forecast is truly terrible so make sure you bring full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, hill shoes and a positive attitude. :)

That is the entry forms all in now with the teams as listed below.

The race starts at 10 am with registration from 8:30. The team captains will pick up the numbers etc but please try to get to the race "village" at the Falkland Estate playing fields for 9 am. That will allow us plenty time to get organised and sort out anyone who needs items from the compulsory kit list:
(A) Waterproof full body cover (that means a waterproof jacket AND trousers folks, even for leg 4).
(B) We will provide some maps for all the legs for the teams listed below, but please bring along your own compass. Additionally, it is a prerequisite that all competitors are able to navigate using map and compass.
(C) Mobile phone, fully charged with the phone number of Allan Harley who is responsible for First Aid and safety. Mobile number 07782 482488. If you find yourself in difficulties, phone or, in the event of poor signal, text this number. Remember, your phone should be switched off until required, as an active mobile will adversely affect your compass.
(D) Head cover. Additionally you will likely want to bring gloves and a buff.
(E) Anything else that a competitor deems necessary to safely complete their leg (e.g. food or fluids).
(F) I will bring along a couple of spare bum bags to carry the above, but ideally you will have your own that you are used to wearing.
(G) All legs require trail shoes as a bare minimum and legs 2 and 3 ideally need proper hill shoes due to the technical nature of the North side of West Lomond.

The forecast is ok at the moment, but be sure to plan for the worst, including bringing along plenty warm clothing for whilst you wait at the start/finish area. Even the winning team is likely to take around 3 hours. We are planning to bring some shelter, but feel free to bring along anything you think will help make for a good team base camp. Those of you who have run in teams with me before will be pleased to know that I will provide some of my now famous crib sheets so that everyone knows when they need to be ready to run, but with all the changes this year these won't be as accurate as usual and you should plan to spend a fair bit of time at the start/finish area. That's where all the atmosphere and fun is going to be anyway and you won't want to miss that.
