Tayside and Fife Throws Programme Winter 2018 – 2019
Over the Winter of 2018 – 2019 scottishathletics, working alongside partner clubs in Tayside and Fife, have agreed to pilot a programme in Tayside and Fife which aims to support the continued development of throwing. The programme is primarily aimed at developing coaches.
What is involved:
These pilot coaching clinics are designed to help coaches develop a sound understanding of how to coach the event, building on the technical content presented on the Coaching Assistant and Athletics Coach Award. The sessions will involve practical activities using athletes to demonstrate key coaching points with clear take home messages for both coach and athlete going forward.
The activities taking place at Pitreavie Athletics Centre will focus on event specific – javelin, shot, discuss and hammer. The clinics in Dundee will cover Generic Throwing activities.
The programme will include the following Coach Development clinics:

Monday 19th November 2018
6.30 pm – 8.30 pm
Pitreavie Athletics Centre
Hammer and Discus

Monday 14th January 2019
