Boxing Day Handicap, Kirkcaldy - New Venue

Unread post by Melville Scobie »

Fife AC will stage its 2017 Boxing Day Race in the Beveridge Park but, due to the unavailability of the Rugby Club, there are two important changes to our traditional arrangements.

Registration and prizegiving will be in Abbotshall Church Hall on the corner of Abbotshall Road and Cloanden Place and the race will start and finish in the park between the lions statues and the putting green. There are pedestrian crossings that should be used for walking between the hall and the park but care should be taken and children should be supervised by parents or other responsible adults. Adequate free parking is available in the Beveridge Park . Indiscriminate parking in the residential streets around the hall will result in us being refused access to the hall in future years.

The race will be a 1.3 mile circuit on traffic-free tarmac.
Everyone is welcome irrespective of age or ability as the race is handicapped so that everyone has an opportunity to win.
There is no entry fee but all runners are asked to bring a present of approximately £3 in value so everyone who runs can be sure of leaving with a prize.

Registration will start in the church hall at 10.15 a.m. The race will start at 11.00.
