The Glencoe marathon is described as "Britain's toughest marathon" by the organisers and it lived up to that billing on Sunday with 1600m of climbing, long boggy sections and non stop rain. The winner was Iain Porter in a time of 3:47:00. Olivier Penacchio finished a fantastic 3rd male and first MV40 in a time of 3:59:26. Other Fife AC finishers were:

40th Ian Hawkins 4:40:46
195 Gary Howe 5:28:17 in his first marathon :D
230 Dave Cowan limped in injured in 5:39:18 :(

There were 436 finishers.

And we were accompanied by second claim member Sarah Legge who was 3rd FV40 in the half marathon!

No photos, I am afraid ..... it was too driech!!

It was a truly hard event, well done to those finishing in such good times. I obviously need to get better at hill running to catch you. :-)
