Kingsbarns Fun Run

Unread post by Fife AC Admin »

Training Fun Run on Wednesday 6th September 2017, 7pm.

Meet at Square, Kingsbarns from 6pm to register.

No prizes, no fuss, no race fee (but donations to "Tushinde Children's Trust" gratefully accepted).

The multi-terrain course of 4 miles starts in the village, goes through the Cambo Estate, along farm tracks, a short section of the coastal path beside the golf course and continues along Kingsbarns Beach beyond the car park (same route as Mini tour of Fife to this point) to the old harbour where you will be directed onto the coastal path (towards St Andrews) for a short loop round the golf course path.

There will only be 2 or 3 marshalls but plenty of markers. Everyone welcome but inexperienced youngsters should be accompanied.

This is just an excuse for a hard training run on a beautiful route and, at the same time, to raise money for slum children's education in Nairobi.

Tea and sausage rolls at "Croft Butts, Smiddy Burn" afterwards. For further information, contact Andy Wright (01334 880247) or Dave Francis (01334 655627).

Thank you very much to all the participants and helpers for last night's run.
There were 48 who took part and some invaluable helpers. As always, there was a wonderful turnout from the Haddies as well as generous helpers from Fife AC. We raised £303 for Tushinde Children's Trust which will be greatly appreciated. Results are shown elsewhere. Special thanks to the caterers, (my wife Clare and daughter Sarah), and to Dave Francis who set out the course, Graham Bennison (results) and to the marshalls and sweepers etc, Tom Pairman, Carole Melville, Anne Whiteford and Elizabeth Francis.
For information on the TushindeChildren's Trust, see their Facebook pages.
