Scottish Hillrunners Championship series and other hill races

Unread post by jocelyn Scott »

The 6 races for 2017 SHR championships( need to do 4 out of 6 to get your coveted SHR 2017 mug,one from each distance unless Over 60 in which case you can choose to skip the Longs but must do all the other 4):
Criffel(M)19th March-FifeAc Vet women made a great start on defending their 2016 title with max points;,StucaChroin (L) 6th May;Goatfell 20th May(M).Trotternish Ridge 3rd June(L).Strathpeffer Games 17th Aug(S) and Devil's Beeftub 9th Sept(S)
With our good hillrunning vet Louise Burt out on recovery from knee op,we need all the women hillrunners we can get to aim for team points. Please be aware some races need entry in advance ie only two days left to get in the ballot for Goatfell on Isle of Arran. See Scottish Hillrunners website for details of each of these races. We encourage everyone who has had some experience up the hills to have a go at this series, and where possible we aim to share lifts, arrange logistics for all Fifers interested.Trotternish on Skye has unfortunately already filled up but StucaChroin, our next race on Saturday 6th May 1pm at Strathyre nr Callendar is entry on the day,only£7 for a great day out( honestly won't be anywhere near as muddy as Criffel, promise!)Please contact me ,Jocelyn Scott on 07942004487/01334870637 if you can turn out for us on this Long at StucaChroin, and note that Goatfell(20th May) also a Scottish Athletics Championship event as well as SHR one,so for any speedy ones, medals on offer in all categories!( the rest of us looking for another step towards that SHR hillrunning mug...)So sign up for that ballot,please...
Sunday morning hilltraining with Dave Francis/Tom Ross across the Lomonds-see Wendy's regular posts for different meeting places 9.00am- can give an intro to hillrunning and the cakes afterwards a great incentive !
