East District Cross Country

Unread post by roger rees »

Further to the thread about junior runners in this year's league, please note that full details of venues, timetable and results are available at

http://www.salroadrunningandcrosscountr ... 0Home.html

There are races for everyone from U11 upwards, with a strong emphasis on participation and enjoyment for all the family.

Please note the new regulation: "From Winter 2016/2017 all competitors in the league should be members of the Scottish Athletics membership scheme. The only exceptions are athletes in the Under 11 races who are not required to be members of the membership scheme." If you are a paid up member of FAC, you are automatically an SA member.

Runners should run in the club vest - please email vests@fifeac.org in good time if you need one.

You do not need to register for the races, and there is no charge to run. Simply turn up on the day. For all league races, FAC run with a number 8 on the front. Make your own and pin it on, or come along and get one and pins from the club tent before the race. After the 8, Senior and U17 Women should have an "L" and U20 Women a "J". Masters women should have a "LV" after the 8

In the Senior Mens Race Masters mark a large "V" after the 8r while U20 Men mark a large "J".

All league races are suitable for spikes or hill shoes; the race at Stirling might be ok for flat shoes (trainers), but it can be a bit soggy in places too. Alloa is usually a wonderful madbath, for which we are pioneering a line in racing wellies - watch this space.

I will post a separate thread about the cross country relay events shortly - please feel very welcome to sign up to that, a slightly different racing format, with opportunities for all runners from U13 upwards.

Do get back to me with any questions,

Roger Rees

Hi Roger and Graham, Justifications letting you know Grace and I won't be running at Stirling. Should be good for Alloa though! Have a good run all!

No entry necessary for East League Cross-Countries,no registration, nothing to pay...you just pick up your number 8, the clubs league number and get on the start line.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is for heavy rain most of the day, so please make sure you have waterproof clothing with you for when you are hanging around, you get really cold quickly when you get wet, maybe better with warm clothing to put on afterwards. :)
