Fife AC under 20 junior Halina Rees, representing Aberdeen University, had an outstanding run amongst an elite field last Saturday at the British & Colleges Cross-Country Championships in Leeds.
Over a mud-bath of a course Crail athlete Halina placed 21st amongst 459 finishers in 27 minutes 23 seconds. Fiona Bracegirdle, Gauldry, finished 163rd for Robert Gordon’s (31.37) while Gordon’s team colleague Jennifer Cruickshanks, Lundin Links, placed 226th (33.05).

Cupar athlete Ian Hawkins celebrated elevation to the over 50 veteran ranks leading home Fife at the Forfar Multi-Terrain Half Marathon last Sunday. Ian finished 21st overall taking the over 50’s award in 94 minutes 32 seconds. Dave Cowan, Cupar, followed in 32nd just eleven seconds ahead of Ian Poolman, Glenrothes, in 33rd to secure the club third team prize. The men claimed third team prize.
Hilary Ritchie, Dairsie, in 63rd overall won the female over 50 award clocking 103 minutes 58 seconds.

Phyllis Lemoncello was the lone Fife AC representative at the Scottish Veterans Cross-Country Championships at Forres, a stark contrast to the numbers that turn out from the club nearer to home. Phyllis, however, kept the Fife flag flying winning the over 65 women’s title timed at 32 minutes 45 seconds for the 6km course.

Following two weeks of icy cancellation the St Andrews Parkrun 5km got back into gear at Craigtoun Park. Fife junior Ryan Brocklebank, Crail, placed 4th overall/1st junior of the sixty-seven finishers in a personal best time of 19 minutes 13 seconds.
Cupar veteran Angela Howe contested the Edinburgh Parkrun 5km at Silverknowes/Cramond finishing 25th out of 393 finishers. Angela was the third female home in 19 minutes 15 seconds.

This Saturday 9th February Fife AC host Scotland’s biggest hill race the Devils Burdens Hill Relay featuring over 600 runners representing 118 teams. The action gets underway at Falkland at 9.30am.

**STOP PRESS** **CORRECTION**

Graham, Reading your weekly result post is a highlight of my week. Thanks for taking the time to post it. However, your high journalistic standards to appear to have slipped this week. You robbed me of 140 places at the Fofar Half :o: . Generally I manage that myself without any help. (I don't think Ian Poolman ran, I was 33rd. Don't know who the other Neil Millar was).
