Giffordtown 5K Road Race (Sunday 4th October)
The 9th Giffordtown 5K Road Race - sponsored by Sweatshop - (incorporating the Fife A.C Road Race Championship) takes place on Sunday 4th October at 11am.
It's a record online entry with it looking like the Male Course Record could be challenged and the Women's Record will possibly go with three Sub17 entries including past Scottish, British and European Champions!
Two weeks to go and a few places remain with the limit being increased to 150. http://www.entrycentral.com/9th-gifford ... -road-race
If anyone is free to help out at the race in any way it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
Can not help but my race number can be reused as I shall definitely not be able to run as I shall be at a 50th Birthday Party the night before.

If anyone's free to help out at the Giffordtown 5K Road Race I'd really appreciate your help.
Could do with someone to do the lead bike and a couple of more marshals too - someone at the 2.5K Turn and someone at 1250m next to the Farm entrance, recording numbers on finish also.
Thanks
Paul

Re: Giffordtown 5K Road Race (Sunday 4th October)
Not long until the Giffordtown 5K Road Race on Sunday 4th October. It’s hard sometimes to believe this will be the 9th year of organising the race. While living in Ladybank this is where I trained regularly on the flat roads of Giffordtown, around Heatherhall, through Fruchie and Kingskettle.
After a lot of deliberation with my family and eight brilliant years of organising races for Fife A.C - starting in October 2007 including -
45 Ravenscraig Park Mile Series Races
9 Giffordtown 5K Road Races
1 60th Anniversary Sub4 Markinch Miracle Mile
1 Stuart Duncan Memorial 5k Road Race
I feel the time has come to hang up my race organisers Hi-Vis and hand the reigns over along with my Hi-Vis vest ( size small ).
Thanks to the fantastic team of helpers (you all know who you are ) that made the above 56 events possible, it’s been fun ………… learned loads and It was knowledgeable to see the other side of what effort that goes into all the races I have competed in the past …………… going to spend time with family and have a long overdue holiday …………….. will be dusting down the running shoes, spikes and Fife A.C vest in the not to distant future!!!
Thanks
Paul
