SuperTeams - Grangemouth

Unread post by Daniel Newman » Sat Jun 20, 2015 5:21 pm

The club was represented today by 3 teams of four Juniors at Grangemouth today in a Multi-event format consisting of Long Jump, Shot Putt, 100m and 4x100m. All 8 girls and 4 boys did really well although we don't have the full results just yet.
We would just like to thank all twelve for their performances and to all the parents, family members and adults that helped to make it a really great day. Weather was overcast but they all had a good day and worked really well together.

We'll post the results as soon as we have them.

Thanks again.

The one result we can confirm is that the girls achieved near perfect scores for spontaneity and artistic merit in the synchronized high jump.

Just going through the results now but a brief summary

Ellie Eboji was the second highest points scorer (61pts) out of 194 girls. This was due to her 4.05m Long Jump (1st), 6.25m Shot Putt (4th) and 14.75 seconds 100m (11th). Ellie then linked up with Anna Dalglish, Rachel McNab and Emily Fordyce for the 4x100m Relay. Finishing 8th out of 50 teams in 61.9 seconds.

Our second girls team of Jennifer Allan, Shona Briers, Tamzin Todd and Clare Scotland and our only boys team of Murray Paterson, Murray Oliver, Mark Scott and Calum Hand also performed really well and all achieved PB's in various events.

Considering that some of these kids were competing in front of a very big crowd for the first time, they all did really well and there was a really great team atmosphere all day.

I know I've already said this before but I'll say it again. Thank you to the parents for helping out with this, either by supporting or by providing transport.
